Hello world! I’m Jill. I’m on a window-seat-only, lifelong odyssey to enjoy this stunning planet we call home. My mission is to bring you along to experience every nook and cranny with me. I’ll share impressions and spicy insider information so you can live these experiences for yourself, vicariously or in person!
I have a lot of questions about life. I’m pretty sure they can only be answered by following sheep trails in Ireland or stuffing my face with gelato in Naples or watching glaciers calve in El Calafate or getting hit in the face with fresh pig bladders in the Black Forest. As you can imagine, a lot of these experiences don’t so much answer questions as they do raise additional ones.
I’m a 30-something American currently based in central Germany working in Forest Genetics. I’m a daydreamer and a largely solo traveler, a photographer but rarely photographee. I also have type 1 diabetes, although it’s not my gimmick. I’ve been abroad almost continuously since 2015, when I bailed on my U.S. motherland (for many deep and not-so-deep reasons that I’m still trying to process) and hightailed it on a one-way to Europe. I’ve been rambling ever since, geographically and mentally and linguistically (but never with the help of AI).
So, this is my story. It’s an amalgamation of tales I’ve cultivated and accumulated. Some of these things I do on purpose, but mostly they just kind of happen to me. I’m just along for the ride, with a pen in one hand and a camera in the other and no hands left for the wheel.
Very enjoyable reading, Jill Terese… Love Dad.
